The golf course design process begins with the selection of a site, followed by thorough examination of the land. This includes analysis of the soil, irrigation and drainage requirements, topography, and the natural environment of the property. Recommendations are then made to the client concerning the type of course most suited to characteristic of the site. After the design theme is approved the design process continues with the development of the Master Plan.
Master Plans are compiled by identifying the exact location of the tees, fairways, greens, bunkers and hazards to achieve the design goals of the client. We work closely with our client in developing a design concept that is both suitable and unique to their property. All planning activities and approvals are closely coordinated with the clients engineer/planner and governmental agencies, including environmental considerations.
At the conclusion of this phase, a comprehensive Master Plan with the golf course routing plan at its heart is provided along with a detailed cost estimate and construction schedule. If requested, residential development plans are also incorporated into the Master Plan in a manner that maximizes the residential development goals and the natural environment of the golf course.
